Tournus Abbey, a jewel of Romanesque art in Burgundy

The Saint-Philibert abbey church in Tournus is one of the most beautiful Romanesque churches in Burgundy and France. To get your first glimpse of the abbey, go to the other side of the river (take the bridge towards Cuisery and turn left, where you can easily park). From here, you can admire Tournus and its colorful houses reflected in the water of the Saône. Above the town, the tower of Saint Philibert church can be seen. Back in the town center, you can visit the abbey church. Built between the 10th and 12th centuries, this well-preserved church is a pure marvel of Romanesque art in Burgundy.
